Commission
Reps
At
Systems 4 Windows we do not
operate commission based representatives.
Commission reps are quite often under pressure
from their Managers. Even though most companies
will not admit to using commission based reps
the tell tale signs are:
- Giving
an inflated price to gain your reaction, slowly
reducing the price as a special offer. As
the rep is paid by a percentage, the higher
the agreed price, the bigger the pay-day.
- Telephone
calls to a manager to give a one-off special
offer if you agree to go ahead now.
- A
special offer given with a deadline for a
decision.
At
Systems 4 Windows, we give what we consider
is a fair and competitive price for a quality
job.
Sub
Contract Installation Teams
Sub-contract
teams at the top end of the market place
are generally fully vetted by the company and
are normally good craftsmen who are well paid.
Naturally, the more work they complete, the
more they earn.
Sub-contract
teams at the lower end of the market place
are simply not paid enough to have enough time
to have pride in their work, they often drive
rusty old vans and carry no dust sheets and
are not capable of treating your home with respect.
The
One-Man Band
The one-man band who works from home
is one of the cheapest options when buying windows
and doors, but generally you will not know which
product you are getting until they are installed.
A one-man band will undercut anyone
in price, get the go ahead from you, the customer,
then travel or fax around all of the local window
/ sealed unit manufacturers and sundry suppliers
for the cheapest method of completing your job
- the cheaper the goods, the more profit for
him - at your expense.
When it comes to a "service call"
the "one-man band" is very
difficult to get a hold of. You will spend most
of your time speaking to answer machine, or
his four year old child who seems to be trained
to tell you that "Daddy isn't in".
The simple truth is he did not make enough on
your job to able to afford to come back.
We at Systems 4 Windows wish you the very best
of luck in making the right choice. All we ask
is that if you decide to go ahead with another
company, contact us
before you commit yourself - our help and advice
whether taken or not is free of charge.
